Themed \u201cTowards a Vibrant and Progressive Rural Economy\u201d, the workshop (28-30 September 2016) aimed to obtain a clearer understanding of critical issues and factors affecting the rural economy; identify key commodities, industries and economic activities; evaluate and adapt existing development models and approaches suitable for immediate adoption; and develop the framework for new development models that can accelerate rural economic transformation in the State.<\/p>\n

More than 100 participants consisting of various stakeholders, ranging from State and Federal agencies, private sector and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) attended the workshop, which was organised by MOARE and supported by Sarawak Development Institute (SDI).<\/p>\n
