According to minister of MIPD, YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah<\/em> Embas during his winding up speech at DUN sitting on 1 December 2022, RM795.711 million has been allocated to his ministry to undertake four basic infrastructure programs.<\/p>\n\n\n

Here is the breakdown of the budget for road infrastructure development as tabled by Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The State Government has allocated RM1.50 billion for the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) for various infrastructure and socioeconomic development projects such as agriculture and agro food-utility, tourism and social services <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Coastal road network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of the Coastal Road Network is divided into three components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Replacement of seven existing ferry crossings to major bridges;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Construction of \u201cmissing link\u201d roads along the coastal area; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Upgrading of 331 km out of 896 km of the existing coastal road<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the construction of bridges and roads, all 13 packages have been awarded. These packages are at various stages of implementation and are expected to be completed by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the upgrading works on the existing coastal road, eight out of 29 packages have been completed, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Kota Samarahan\/ Sadong Jaya Road, Samarahan Division (15 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Sungai Buloh\/ Engsengei Road, Samarahan Division (8.05 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Sungai Buloh\/ Sebuyau Road, Samarahan Division (9.6 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) Triso\/ Melebu\/ Pusa Phase 1 (8.4 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(e) Triso\/ Melebu\/ Pusa Phase 2 (17.2 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(f) Triso\/ Melebu\/ Pusa Phase 3 (9.1 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(g) Sungai Nyalau to Bakam Road (first section), Miri Division (8.1 km); and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(h) Sungai Nyalau to Bakam Road (second section), Miri Division (27.2 km).<\/p>\n\n\n

These packages are at various stages of implementation and are expected to be completed by 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remaining 21 packages are at various stages of implementation and are expected to complete by 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Trunk Road Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the Second Trunk Road Program, 6 out of 14 packages have been awarded. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Batang Saribas Bridge No.2;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Batang Saribas Bridge to the Roban Interchange;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Sebuyau-Lingga;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) Sungai Lingga Bridge;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(e) Batang Lupar Bridge No.2; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(f) Batang Lupar Bridge No.2, Sri Aman to the Betong Interchange<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These packages are at various stages of construction and all six are scheduled for completion by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n

Federal project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) The Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak (PBHS);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) The Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR); and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) The Trans Borneo Highway (LTB)<\/p>\n\n\n

For year 2022, UNIFOR has assisted 251 number of projects totalling RM50 million for the construction, repair and upgrading houses of worship (Photo for illustration purposes only)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

As of October 2022, the overall progress of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak (PBHS) project has achieved 89%, with seven sections fully completed and open for public use. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Telok Melano to Sematan Section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Serian Section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Batang Rajang Bridge Section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) Julau Section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(e) Nyabau Flyover Section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(f) Pujut Section; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(g) Selangau Section<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remaining sections are at various stages of implementation and are expected to be completed 95% by 2023 with the rest to be completed by 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) (Phase 1), from Simpang Gelugus to Long Lopeng, Lawas with a total length of 77 km, is currently under construction. It is showing good progress and Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026. SSLR Phase 2 is divided into four packages, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Package 1: Mulu to Long Seridan (45 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Package 2: Long Seridan to Nanga Medamit (71 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Package 3: Long Lopeng to Long Komap, Ba\u2019Kelalan (75 km); and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) Package 4: Rumah Aling to Long Merakap (66 km)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is currently in the planning stage and construction works are expected to start in the third quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trans Borneo Highway is a project to upgrade the existing road network to dual carriageways connecting Sarawak and Sabah with Negara Brunei Darussalam, with a total road length of 96.3 km. It is divided into three sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Miri Section (4.9 km);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Limbang Section (57.3 km); and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Lawas Section (34.1 km)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is in the planning stage and work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n
