With 2000 participants attending the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) this November at Kuching, Deputy Chief Minister YB Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that the forum provides a golden opportunity for Sarawak to attract more investment and business opportunity for the people.<\/p>\n
According to the Awang Tengah, in relation to investment and the business opportunities in Sarawak, the forum gives Sarawak the opportunity for networking with business leaders from other countries not only for Muslim communities but also from non-Muslim communities by promoting investments in sectors such as heavy industry, timber, halal industry, agriculture sectors and tourism in Sarawak.<\/p>\n
Also present during the press conference of the 13th WIEF on July 13th was Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation Tun Musa Hitam.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is important for me to note that we do not insist that only Muslim business people or Muslim countries are involved, we open ourselves wide. Business does not recognise boundaries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
With the theme Disruptive Change-Impact and Challenges, specific focus will be given to discussions relating to Disruptive Science, Technology and Innovation, Halal Consumables and Services, Islamic Finance and law, Culture and Design as well as Entrepreneurship and Emerging Spaces.<\/p>\n
Against the backdrop of the theme, current and aspiring industry players will have the opportunities to share their thoughts and insights on the impact and challenges of disruptive change and craft a more sustainable and forward looking global business landscape during the forum.<\/p>\n
As a platform that promotes economic collaboration and mutually beneficial growth between various economies from around the countries, the forum provides an inclusive platform to promote regional cooperation, to drive business opportunities and bring positive impact on communities.<\/p>\n
