Malaysians and non-Malaysians living in the country are now restricted to travelling within a 10km-radius from their homes<\/em><\/p>\n

Effective 1st<\/sup> to 14th<\/sup> April 2020 during the second phase of the Movement Control Order, any travel for reasons permissible are restricted to a 10km-radius from an individual\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

This is among the regulations listed in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (No. 2) Regulations 2020, which was uploaded in the Attorney General\u2019s Chambers of Malaysia website.<\/p>\n

According to the Regulations, no individual is allowed to move from one place to another within any infected local area or from one infected local area to another except for permissible purposes.<\/p>\n

These purposes are purchasing, as well as supplying and delivering food, daily necessities, medicine or dietary supplement; seeking healthcare or medical services; and performing any official duty or any duty in relation to any essential services.<\/p>\n

In travelling within the 10-km radius from his\/her home or to a place nearest to his\/her home for the aforementioned reasons, the individual must not be accompanied by any other person, unless reasonably necessary.<\/p>\n

For individuals performing any official duty or duty in relation to any essential services, he or she must produce an authorisation letter from his\/her employer if required by an authorised officer.<\/p>\n

In the event where travel requires being beyond the 10km-radius \u201cdue to a special or particular reason\u201d, an individual must obtain prior written permission from the police officer in charge of the police station nearest to the individual\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

Those who violate any of the provisions under the Regulations, upon conviction, shall be liable to a fine of no more than RM1,000 and\/or imprisonment of up to six months.<\/p>\n
