{"id":9632,"date":"2020-07-24T09:41:04","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T01:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/?p=2272"},"modified":"2020-07-24T09:41:04","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T01:41:04","slug":"work-to-build-sarawaks-first-petrochemical-plant-has-begun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rakansarawak.com\/v3\/2020\/07\/24\/work-to-build-sarawaks-first-petrochemical-plant-has-begun\/","title":{"rendered":"Work to build Sarawak&#8217;s first petrochemical plant has begun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/art-312-01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2276\" src=\"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/art-312-01-640x320.jpg\" alt=\"art-312-01\" \/><\/a><em>The Bintulu petrochemical hub is expected to be able to generate RM16 billion to RM20 billion to Sarawak&#8217;s annual GDP and create 74,000 jobs<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a cost of RM3.74 billion, the work to build Sarawak&#8217;s first petrochemical plant in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu to produce methanol has already begun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was announced by the Sarawak Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> July during the Sarawak Day 2020 celebration at Miri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A 1,000-acre site in Tanjung Kidurong is being developed for the petrochemical industry to make Bintulu the hub of Sarawak&#8217;s petrochemical industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari said that several international multinational companies have expressed their commitment to invest in the petrochemical industry in Bintulu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA company has submitted plans to the government to invest RM24 billion in Tanjung Kidurong.
