Under the Le Tour De Restoration program or Greening Sarawak campaign, the Sarawak Forest Department is distributing 50, 000 tree seedlings.
This initiative is in line with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) to develop the State economy while maintaining environmental sustainability by replanting trees in degraded forests.
The Government of Sarawak through the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resource has signed a memorandum of understanding with JICA to implement the project on 23rd April 2020. The implementation of the project was supposed to start in 2020 but was delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
