{"id":2638,"date":"2020-08-28T09:40:53","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T01:40:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/?p=2638"},"modified":"2020-08-28T09:40:53","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T01:40:53","slug":"managing-organisational-integrity-risks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rakansarawak.com\/v4\/2020\/08\/28\/managing-organisational-integrity-risks\/","title":{"rendered":"Managing Organisational Integrity Risks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/art-419-01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2639\" src=\"http:\/\/faradalemedia.com\/v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/art-419-01.jpg\" alt=\"art-419-01\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Organisational integrity defined as an organisation functioning in a manner consistent with the purposes and values for which it created (Six &amp; Huberts, 2008).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Effectively managing integrity risks involves identifying and mitigating the causes that contribute to them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The view among organisational members that unethical conduct is routine and commonplace poses a serious threat to organisational integrity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When people believe that others are engaging in unethical conduct, it can take on a contagious nature which can make them more likely to behave unethically themselves (Ariely, 2013).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among other, people have a strong need for social acceptance and are therefore likely to go with group norms (Zimbardo, 2007).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once others believe that \u201ceverybody is doing it,\u201d unethical behaviour may become an informal norm and contribute to an unethical environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For that reason, tolerating even petty acts of unethical behaviour can undermine the ethical climate because it leads to the view that such behaviour is common and acceptable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The way performance managed in the organisation can also pose risks to organisational integrity.
