Sarawak’s 2027 Budget sets aside RM1.38 billion for water, electricity and telecommunications. A 25% electricity rebate helps 716,000 consumers, while RM5 monthly water subsidies support about 600,000 households. Statewide water coverage is 86.1%, and 94.5% of settlements have internet coverage.

Sarawak loses treated water daily through leaking pipes and possible illegal connections. The state is replacing thousands of kilometres of old pipes to reduce this loss. Wise water use at home also helps ease pressure on the system.
